Screws are an extremely important element in the plasticizing unit during the production cycle.

One of the fundamental characteristics that plasticizing screws must have is a high capacity for plasticizing and homogeneous melting suitable for transformed polymers. This is why the geometric profile of the plasticizing screws must be suitable for the type of production.

Finding a suitable geometry is one of the necessary steps for improving homogenization and achieving a higher quality product, thereby obtaining an economic advantage, reducing production waste, decreasing cycle times and increasing energy savings.

Basic MELT screw profile General purpose screw

For years, the general purpose screw has been a reference point, especially in the field of injection molding. The universal screw profile works properly with most existing materials but it does not achieve the high levels of metering and mixing needed to meet the increasing demand for quality parts. Therefore, we consider it to be a good compromise for all applications where there are no special requirements.

MELT T03 screw profile

A screw suitable for processing polyolefins with a design that combines a conventional profile with a superior mixer with excellent mixing qualities. The mechanical geometry of this screw localizes an area of high compression (metering) which forces the mass to melt homogeneously.

A screw with a design that is especially suitable for PP-PE processing. The concept of pouring consists of a second thread that starts in the compression zone and divides the material from the solid duct to the melted duct. This allows better control of the melting point of the material and the temperature of the mass.

The “Melt T 12” screw is designed and produced mainly for the transformation of polyolefins, but it can also be used with excellent results for polymers such as ABS or Polyamide
